During the evaluation

After diagnosis or rule-out
- Clear diagnostic answer. Families receive a clinically validated autism diagnosis or rule-out supported by FDA-authorized Canvas Dx accuracy data.

Is a prescription required?
Canvas Dx is a prescription-only device. As part of the evaluation process, our partner clinicians will review your information to determine whether a prescription is appropriate for your child.
Do Cognoa Clinical visits include medication management?
No. Cognoa Clinical visits do not include prescribing or managing medications.
Families are referred back to their child’s primary care provider or treating clinician
for any medication-related questions or care.
Is a virtual assessment as accurate as in-person?
Yes! Research shows that evaluating children in their familiar home environment can provide very accurate insights—often similar to traditional in-clinic assessments—while helping kids feel more comfortable and relaxed. Canvas Dx is also FDA authorized, meaning it has been carefully tested and clinically validated. Our results show 97% accuracy in ruling out autism when the result is negative and 95% accuracy in confirming autism when the result is positive.
